The Ambassador is the overall head of both Ghana’s Embassy in Riyadh and the Ghana Consulate-General in Jeddah. The Ambassador is the representative of the President of the Republic of Ghana in Saudi Arabia as well as the countries of concurrent accreditation, which include the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman.  H.E. Alhaji Mohammad Habibu Tijani is the current Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the other countries of concurrent accreditation mentioned above.

The Deputy Head of Mission is the most senior diplomatic staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration at the Embassy in Riyadh. He is usually of a Minister Plenipotentiary rank.  S/he advises and supports the Ambassador on both administrative and policy issues.

The Administration Section is headed by a Head of Chancery who is responsible for the day to day administration of the Mission. He/She is also responsible for all personnel and welfare issues that affect both the home based and local staff of the Mission.

The Consular Section operates within the confines of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963. The consular section is headed by a Consular Officer and is responsible for the provision of consular and related services to both Ghanaians and foreigners alike. Some of these services include the following:

i).     Registration of Ghanaians in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and  Oman

ii).    Renewal of expired Ghanaian Passports;

iii).   Visa Issuance

iv).   Issuance of Emergency Travel Certificates (ETC)

v).    Authentication of legal documents;

vi).   Provision of Consular assistance to Ghanaian nationals held in Prisons, Deportation centers, Hospitals as well as other detention centers through out areas of accreditation and concurrent accreditation.
